Go to Seesaw
At St. George’s, we make regular use of a platform called Seesaw (http://seesaw.me). It is a secure online journal where students can document and reflect on what they are learning in class. Pupils are able to add the things we work on (including photos, videos, worksheets, drawings and voice recordings) to their Seesaw journal. We also set the weekly homework, for pupils to complete at home. Should there be a period of school closure, we are also able to use this platform to record and deliver lessons.
Useful Information for Parents
Physical Education: PE is on Wednesdays and Fridays. We go outside as much as we can, so please ensure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather.
Key Dates:
Homework
Year 6 are expected to practise times tables, read frequently over the week, practise weekly spellings and complete one other piece of homework. This is to be completed on Seesaw. This is set on Seesaw every Friday and expected to be handed in by Thursday. We will also post additional homework or projects where appropriate to enhance the learning in school.
Times Tables: Children are expected to practise times tables regularly. They have access to TT Rockstars and Sumdog at home and at school to practice their times tables.
Spellings: Weekly spellings are set and tested every Friday.
Reading: Pupils have a choice to log their reading on Seesaw or in their reading record. Please record a page number and a brief comment in the reading diary or record reading/ reading responses on Seesaw. Merits will be awarded for regular reading.
