European Languages day at St’georges

On Monday 26th of September St’georges took part in European languages day. We were very fortunate to have a guest come to school who did a variety of workshops across the school.

Year 6 took part in a German workshop, year 5 took part in a Spanish workshop, year 4 took part in an Italian workshop and year 3 took part in a French workshop. The workshops included games, discussions, learning about the countries cultures and was very interactive. We also had a lot of interaction from the teachers in and around school.

After the workshops each class did some work around the country they had been learning about in classes, some classes created some beautiful posters with facts about their country of choice. Across school we even had some children who went home and researched more about the country and even learnt some extra phrases in the specific language.

The children across school really enjoyed the day and we had such positive feedback from Mr. Thomas who ran all the workshops, saying it was lovely to see how engaged and interested the children across the whole school were.
