On Darwin Day, Lawley used their Geography skills to locate the places Darwin visited on a world map and then plot the voyage of The Beagle. We then researched the places he visited, learning about longitude and latitude and discovering what Darwin did whilst he was there.
In the afternoon, we looked at Werner’s nomenclature of colours, the colour chart used by Darwin to help him record the exact colours he saw on his travels. We focused on the shades of blue, using watercolours to blend and try and create an exact match.
