Darwin Day

After a costume parade in the hall, we celebrated Darwin Day with a scientific enquiry. We were pattern seeking to explore the food eaten by different types of birds. We noticed that different shaped and sized beaks were better suited to collect different food types. We linked this to Darwin’s findings of the finches on the Galapagos Islands who had adapted to the food available in their environment.
