It is with sadness that we wish Mrs Tso a fond farewell.

Having been a big part of St .George’s team, Mrs Tso has decided to leave to prioritise family. We wish her all the best and know she will be missed!

She has been a fantastically loyal and hard-working member of our team and has made a positive difference to many children.

Message from Mrs Lee

Dear Parents and Carers,
A very proud week, with lots of celebrations.
Both sports day events were a complete success and enjoyed by all. A big thank you to everyone who participated in making this event happen and supporting our school.
We had the privilege of showing Mrs Whelan (CEO) and two trustees around our school. They were delighted and very complimentary about St. George’s school. A big thank you to Harry and Amaya from Wenlock, Isabella from Ercall, Larna from Wrekin and George from Stiperstones, who did an excellent presentation for our visitors about why they like St. George’s. This was a very proud moment to hear what pupils think about their school and the experiences they have.
Another proud moment was our Safeguarding group preparing and presenting to an audience of parents about the different types of bullying and what we do in school to help prevent and tackle them. We had lovely, positive feedback about the children and how well they confidently conducted themselves.
We are due some warmer weather…better late than never. With this in mind, please ensure water bottles are filled, hats and sunscreen applied.
Reminder that next Friday is our joint Summer Fayre; we hope you can come along and join in the fun.
A great week at St. George’s.
Many thanks,
Mrs K Lee
Headteacher

Message from Mrs Lee

Dear Parents and Carers,
A wonderful enrichment for our pupils at Shropshire Sings this week. Our choir were fantastic in sharing their voices and representing our school. Thank you to staff and parents who supported this event.
Parent lunches continue to be a success and we love the positive feedback that we are getting back from your enjoyment of this.
Our parent assemblies are always fantastic to watch but this week, Year 4 Corndon class and the rest of Year 4 exemplified the fantastic learning and enrichment experiences that happen in school and most importantly, with happiness and confidence.
We are looking forward to next week’s sports days…hoping for good weather. A polite reminder that there is no access to toilets for spectators during this time (younger children as exception if needed). We hope you understand that for safeguarding reasons, other year groups are still in school, and we do not have surplus adults to supervise spectators entering the building as they are needed to support pupils during the events.  Thank you for your understanding.
Have a lovely weekend.
Kind regards,
Mrs K Lee

Message from Mrs Lee

Dear Parents/Carers,
We end the week having had some sunshine for the summer term, and hopefully it will continue for all the events we have planned.
A great week back to start off the summer term; pupils working hard and showing our St. George’s Way, which is always a pleasure to see.
Today it has been great to see ‘a splash of green’ and for pupils to learn about the work and reason for NSPCC charity and the good work they do.
A big ‘well done’ to all of our pupils who performed in the ‘Little Mermaid’  with Get Your Wiggle On. It is fantastic to hear about the achievements and talents that are pupils are involved with outside of school.
Polite reminders
Scooters and bikes are not to be ridden on the school site. Please support both schools in ensuring you remind children of this expectations. We have lots of people on site and want to keep everyone safe.
PE kits and expectations – pupils should be wearing correct PE kit and no football kits.
Just a polite reminder regarding breaktime snacks and lunchboxes, that during morning break we encourage pupils to bring fruit and bottled water. Chewing gum, sweets, fizzy drinks, chocolate bars, nuts and nut related products are not allowed in school. We are a nut free school.
Thank you for your support with this.
Wishing you a lovely weekend.
Kind regards

Message from Miss Worley

Dear Parents and Carers,
The final week of half term has proven to be a busy one. We have had Ercall’s class assembly, Willstone’s parent lunch and our year 6s have been off in the Shropshire hills geocaching. It is wonderful to see our pupils representing the school and demonstrating the St George’s Way in a variety of contexts.
School Uniform
Our school uniform helps us to celebrate belonging to the St George’s School community and so we encourage all pupils to wear the correct attire to school. We politely request that pupils do not wear makeup or nail extensions to school and that no football kits are worn. Thank you for your continued support with this.
We have a lot to look forward to in the second half of our summer term where we also welcome back Mrs Mulliner following her maternity leave.
Have a wonderful half term break.
Miss Worley
Deputy Headteacher

Message from Mrs Lee

Dear Parents/Carers,
A huge congratulations and ‘well done’ to our Year 6 pupils who have completed their SATs this week. They have shown resilience and determination to ‘show what they know’! This is the message that all staff have given to the pupils, recognising that SATs is a small part of education, and we know how amazing pupils are across a mix of areas.
A big thank you to staff who have given extra to support breakfast boosters and coming in early to support this week’s SATs breakfast. Team work and working with parents helps to support the best outcomes for pupils, so an extended thank you to our parents and carers also.
School trips
This is another polite reminder regarding payment of school trips. They will only go ahead if sufficient funds are generated from donations. Unfortunately, trips will be cancelled if this is not the case. We want to ensure pupils have wider opportunity as part of the curriculum and trips support this.
Keen gardeners
Do we have any keen, green fingered parents or grandparents who would be willing to give school some time to help us create an area for growing plants, flowers and vegetables? If so, please can you contact the school office.
Have a lovely weekend when it arrives,
Kind regards
Mrs K Lee
