Wenlock at Craven Arms Discovery Centre

Wenlock had the most fabulous time at the Discovery Centre, made even more exciting by the puddle dodging (jumping!) and a humongous woolly mammoth skeleton!

We split into two groups and spent half of our day learning about Rocks and Soils for our science topic and half of the day learning about the Stone Age.

For science, we undertook a soil investigation and consolidated our knowledge of sedimentary and igneous rocks by exploring the rock trail. We were amazed to see Wenlock limestone that was 420 million years old.

For history, we made cave art using sand, mud and charcoal ; we learnt how to use a fire bow; and finally went outdoors to discover how hunters would trace their next meal.
